travel | an empire state of mind

I left my heart in NYC. I fell in love with the rich architecture... the endless fire escapes and everything in between. I can't believe it's been 5 days. I was suffering with a withdrawal the moment I boarded the plane and landed in YYZ. Knowing that when I walk out of the door in the morning I am no longer just steps away from Dominque Ansel bakery or a 5-minute walk to Broadway Street. Ahhh... That is the life. That is the New Yorker's way.

Many wonder why I was so in love with New York and you don't fully understand it until you experience the everyday life, that is New York. I think staying in a rented apartment rather than a hotel, adds to the fun. The apartment was not luxurious but you learn to live with it and realise that this is what the normal living arrangement is for New Yorkers. But yet... I still fell in love. The moment I swung the front door open... I knew this is a place I could get used to.
I was able to soak in the West Village with a quick stop at all of the Marc Jacobs stores on Bleecker Street & bought some cupcake at Magnolia Bakery. Note... the Pistachio is too die for. I also had the chocolate & vanilla, they are also good as well. But speaking of yummy cupcakes... you need to stop by Baked by Melissa, they are tiny cupcakes which are to die for. Tiny yumminess in your mouth.

Of course, a trip to Central Park is a must! Central Park is indeed so magical. I wasn't able to walk around the whole park but my next trip I'll spend the day there and taking it all in and perhaps getting lost. Maybe.
