As C and I are discussing recent events on Gossip Girl- you know, being super productive as usual. I remember watching episode 4 x 19 titled; "Pretty in Pink" where Serena, pairs Marchesa with the Anthropologie Starfish cuff.
Needless to say, 3 seconds after that episode, I knew I needed that cuff.
Needless to say, 3 seconds after that episode, I knew I needed that cuff.
I called, and visited both the Anthropologie stores in Toronto, unfortunately they didn't carry it, apparently only 1 store in Calgary or wherever had it. As disappointment set in, I looked into other options. Lucky Brand had one for $62, but it really wasn't for me.
Then as luck would have it, as I was browsing shopbop (when am I not browsing the latest from the them?!) and came across a brand called Alkemie.
Then as luck would have it, as I was browsing shopbop (when am I not browsing the latest from the them?!) and came across a brand called Alkemie.
After doing a bit of research I learned that, Alkemie founders Dara Gerson & Ashley Lowengrub, craft pieces that are not only stunning, but socially responsible. As a brand they support fair trade, and eco-sustainable
business practices to combat the existing harmful effects, and conditions
of the metal and gemstone industry.
Moreover they create one of a kind jewelry.
I spotted their Delicate Starfish Cuff, and made it mine!
The inspiration for this particular cuff was the ocean, tide pools and texture. Made in L.A and out of 100% reclaimed metal, this piece is worth every cent.
The next item on my ever growing list? The 'Wild, Wild West' ring, fashioned after a bulls skull.
My only complaint? Its a tad heavy.
xoxo,
Savannah
