The travel bug has hit me again. After only traveling stateside & west coast Canada last summer. I feel like it's time to break-free and fly across the ocean to Europe. But where in Europe do you ask?
Italia is the destination of choice.
I was suppose to go last year but due to my lack-of vacation days, I wasn't able to take the time I wanted to take to bask under the Italian sun. So this year will be a go. I'll probably hit the usual places: Roma, Venice, Pisa, Milan but my ideal trip would just be renting a car and drive down to the countryside and then hike through Cinque Terre. Oh Cinque Terre: the majestic views of southern Italia. I can't wait to hike up to all the villages and take it all in and just have these picturesque memories ingrained with me forever.
I don't really remember where my love for Italia came from. But it's most likely due to the rich history it has to offer, the delicious food (because I am a die-hard foodie) and the amazing fashion-wear that comes from them. Italy is my first choice if I were to choose only one country to visit.
I cannot wait to visit the Basilica, sip espresso in St. Marks Square, shop around the streets of Milan and eat gelato with a backdrop only some can imagine. I can't wait to speak to the locals and say 'Ciao'. I just cannot wait to soak in another culture. See the sights, hear the sounds and experience another style of life. I can't wait to take my afternoon siestas. Ahhh... why can't the trip come sooner?
